On Telangana Formation Day, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy felicitated police personnel who received President’s Medals for Distinguished, Meritorious, and Gallantry.
A total of 50 officers were honoured during the state ceremony for their exemplary contributions to law enforcement, internal security and operational excellence.
Two senior officers were conferred the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service. They are Vijay Kumar, IPS, Additional DGP (GHs & OCTOPUS), currently serving as DG, ACB Hyderabad, and M. Ramana Kumar, SP (NC), Sangareddy, posted as AIG at the chief office.
Twelve officers were awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. They are senior officials K. Rama Krishna Prasad Rao, Addl. SP (Admin), Nalgonda; Bandi Venkateswara Reddy, Addl Commandant of 8th Battalion, TGSP; and Atmakuri Venkateswarlu, Squadron Commander, Greyhounds.
The list also had Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors and Armed Reserve Sub-Inspectors (ARSIs) from the Intelligence, the ACB, and the TGSP.
Around 36 personnel were given Gallantry Medals for their courageous acts, particularly during Greyhounds operations.
Officers from the Greyhounds, Intelligence, and district police stations were also honoured. They are R. Bhaaskaran, IPS, SP (Operations, SIB, Telangana), PKS Ramesh, AC/DSP (AR), and K. Purushotham Reddy, Inspector, SIB, Hyderabad.
Several field-level operatives of the Greyhounds of ranks like PC, RSI, JC, and ARSI also received gallantry awards.
included combatants like G. Prathap Singh, Abdul Azeem, M. Papa Rao, and Malotu Ramulu, who played main roles in anti-Naxal operations in the forest areas of Bhupalpally, Mulugu and Asifabad.
“Your service inspires all citizens. You are the guardians of this state. Telangana salutes your courage,” said the Chief Minister while presenting the medals.
