Defending the candidature of Abhishek Manu Singhvi in the Rajya Sabha by-poll from Telangana, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that there is a need to argue strongly in the Legislative Houses as well as the Supreme Court regarding the State Reorganisation Act and that is why the Telangana Congress requested the high command to send legal expert Abhishek Manu Singhvi to the Rajya Sabha from Telangana.
The Centre is not implementing the State Reorganisation Act–2014, the CM said and added that many constitutional and legal complications have arisen in implementing the State Reorganisation Act.
The CM thanked the high command for approving the candidature of Abhishek Manu Singhvi from Telangana immediately after his name was proposed.
The CM said Singhvi strongly advocated the resolution of unresolved issues of the State Reorganisation Act in legislatures and courts. He said former MP K. Keshava Rao acted as a disciplined Congress worker with a big heart. The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting was held at Hotel Sheraton in Nanakramguda on Sunday. The Chief Minister introduced Abhishek Manu Singvi to the MLAs. The Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers, MLAs and MLCs attended.
