The successful volunteers system of Andhra Pradesh which became popular across the nation, is being taken up Telangana also. Taking inspiration from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy also decided to bring such systen in Telangana. The change in this is only the name. Revanth Reddy recently announced that Indiramma Committees will be constituted in every village with five members. In Andhra Pradesh it is called as volunteers system and in Telangana it is called as Indiramma committees. The style of functioning and the duties are the same.
In Andhra Pradesh, CM YS Jagan appointed one volunteer for every 50 families. Through these volunteers the government is implementing all the welfare schemes.
With this, middlemen and corruption in the implementation of welfare schemes is mostly eradicated. The beneficiaries are directly getting every welfare scheme through these volunteers at their doorstep.
This system has become very popular and received praise from many in the country. During the Covid time, the services of these volunteers were appreciated by everyone.  Now on the same lines,  Revanth Reddy has decided to constitute Indiramma committees.
CM Revanth said Indiramma committees would be constituted with party workers from all sections and the government’s programmes and welfare schemes would be taken to the people by involving the Indiramma committees.
CM Revanth further said that the role of Indiramma committees is to take the schemes to the people effectively and to ensure that the government image is enhanced. In AP, CM Jagan collects the ground level information on whatever issue and subject through these volunteers. In the same way, Telangana CM Revanth also can get ground level information from these Indiramma committees.
