Back in July 2024, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made a grand announcement—One IAS Officer, One Flagship Idea. Every IAS officer was ordered to submit a flagship initiative within two weeks, a move that was supposed to drive innovation in governance. But months later, these ideas have vanished into thin air. When yours truly went ahead asking officials, many just smiled. A little bird tells us that some IAS officers were never even informed about the CM’s directive in the first place. Anyways those who give ideas, found those gathering dust at the Chief Minister’s Office. The frustration is real, and murmurs in the corridors suggest that the flagship idea plan was never meant to take off in the first place. So, was this just another headline-grabbing gimmick? Or did someone at the top decide these ideas weren’t worth pursuing? Either way, officers have moved on, and the so-called flagship ideas remain just that—ideas.
