Telangana state BJP Vice President and ex-MLA NVSS Prabhakar on Saturday alleged that Congress Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is unable to work independently as he has to take directions from the Congress central leadership to run his government in the State.
Addressing a press conference at the State BJP office here, Prabhakar said, after assuming charge as Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy has visited Delhi six times within one month. Taking a dig at Reddy’s frequent Delhi visits, he said earlier ex-CM K Chandrasekhar Rao had functioned and run the government from his farmhouse while the
present CM is dependent for the directions from Delhi.
He alleged that without a proper plan, the Congress has announced six guarantee schemes for the people and grabbed power in Telangana. Prabhakar said in the first month itself the Revanth Reddy government was trying to obtain a Rs 15,000 crore loan for running the State.
In the name of new ration card and guarantee schemes the government made people
wait in serpentine lines for days to submit their applications, he said, and alleged that this exercise has only benefitted some contractors, agents and suppliers of the ministers.
The senior BJP leader alleged that the new Congress government is now mulling to cancel old ration cards. But our party will launch an agitation if a single ration card of the poor was cancelled, he warned.
Referring to free bus services to women in the State, Prabhakar said without a comprehensive plan the Revanth Reddy government has announced this scheme leading to inconvenience and chaos in villages. “Our party has gathered information by meeting women in villages which reveals that girl students going to schools and colleges have
been facing problems. The situation is so bad that if a woman goes to a village taking
advantage of free bus service, there is no guarantee that she will come back to her place in
time due to non-availability of return buses.
