Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has expressed confidence that the P4 initiative will be a game-changer in the State, particularly for the underprivileged. Speaking at the launch event of P4 in Amaravati on Sunday, the Chief Minister described P4 as a mission dedicated to poverty alleviation and pledged that it would have a transformative impact on society.
Chandrababu Naidu, along with Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, unveiled the logo for the P4 initiative, marking the commencement of the programme on the auspicious occasion of Ugadi, the Telugu New Year.
The Chief Minister emphasised that any programme launched on Ugadi has historically been successful, and he hopes the P4 initiative will follow this tradition.
“P4 is an extraordinary scheme designed to lift the poor out of poverty,” Naidu said. “We are working together with Pawan Kalyan, who is always thinking about the future of the state, and with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose vision is to position India at the top globally.”
Reflecting on his political journey, the Chief Minister shared that he had been dedicated to the people of Andhra Pradesh for nearly five decades. “I became an MLA in 1978, and in three years, I will have completed 50 years in public service. My life is dedicated to serving the people who have supported me all these years. I have been elected nine times, including four terms as Chief Minister and 15 years as Leader of the Opposition,” Naidu noted with pride.
He went on to praise his political mentor, the late NT Rama Rao, founder of the Telugu Desam Party, who instilled discipline and perseverance in him. “I have been in public life for 47 years, and my sole aim has always been to bring progress to the state and improve the lifestyle of the people,” he said.
Chandrababu Naidu reiterated his commitment to good governance and clean politics, mentioning several transformative programmes he had introduced in the past, such as Prajala Vaddaku Palana, Janma Bhoomi and the IT revolution. “I think about how to transform people’s lives as soon as I wake up every day,” he added.
On the issue of personal integrity, Naidu clarified that he had never committed any mistakes and would continue to uphold his values. He also addressed concerns about his family’s involvement in business, stating that the Heritage business was handed over to family members so they would not rely on politics for their livelihood.
Chandrababu Naidu assured the public that the primary goal of the P4 initiative is poverty eradication. He highlighted the state’s economic progress, with per capita income increasing from Rs 2,66,995 last fiscal year to Rs 2,98,065 this year, and projected to rise to Rs 5,42,985 by 2028-29. He set a target for per capita income to reach Rs 55 lakh by 2047.
He stressed that the growth of the state’s economy would lead to increased revenue, which should be distributed among the people for development. “Every plan I have introduced has been successful, and I am confident that P4 will be no different,” he concluded. The progress report for P4 is expected to be presented to the public by the next Ugadi.
