Consequently, a meeting chaired by Energy Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy was held on April 20, involving Power Utilities. They were advised to identify projects and expedite clearance procedures. The AP Genco Board granted approval on June 16 to finalize the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with M/s. NHPC Ltd for the implementation of the Yaganti and Kamalapadu pumped storage projects in the State of Andhra Pradesh, along with other projects in Phase-II.”

NHPC, and facilitating priority statutory clearances from CWC / CEA / MOP / MOWR / MOEF.
The State government’s efforts to fortify the energy sector are expected to catalyse the transformation of the state into a thriving economic and industrial hub. It will also position the state as a prominent destination for clean and affordable energy. The government’s primary objective is to make affordable power accessible to every household, thus contributing to improved economic and living standards. Additionally, a “White Paper on Green Hydrogen Investment Opportunity in Andhra Pradesh” will be released during the same event.
