Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will release the ‘Jagananna Amma Vodi’ for the fourth year directly into the bank accounts of students’ mothers at Kurupam in Parvathipuram Manyam district on Wednesday. He will address a public meeting at Kurupam. CM Jagan successfully provided ‘Amma Vodi’ for the past four years without fail, and this tranche will be the last of this term. The CM is likely to address the public on important key issues in the public meeting.
The CM says, “Education is the real asset that we can give to children. I strongly believe that the expenditure incurred on education is an investment for children’s future. Send your wards to school. I take responsibility for their education. Including Rs 6,392 crore assistance being provided today, the total financial assistance provided so far under ‘Jagananna Amma Vodi’ alone is Rs 26,067.28 crore.”
The CM further said, “The Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) of Andhra Pradesh for the year 2018 in Primary Education was as low as 84.48 compared to the national average of 99.21. Andhra Pradesh was then at the lowest place among 29 states. In the last four years, the State has witnessed a remarkable surge in GER from 84.48 to 100.8. The government has decided to further improve the GER and to encourage the continuation of studies by students who failed in class 10th and Intermediate. They will be readmitted in schools and colleges and will once again be provided with ‘Jagananna Amma Vodi’ benefits.”
Minister for Education Botsa Satyanarayana said that financial assistance of Rs 6,392.94 crore will be deposited into the bank accounts of 4,261,965 mothers in a festive atmosphere across the state for 10 days, thereby benefiting 8,315,341 students from classes 1 to Intermediate. He further said that providing benefits in a most transparent manner to all eligible poor without any discrimination of caste, religion, region, community, or party affiliation in 100% saturation mode, irrespective of whether students are studying in government, aided, or private schools.
Minister Satyanarayana said that the Jagan Government stood as a role model to the country by implementing revolutionary reforms in the Education Sector. He said, “Like nowhere else in the country, revolutionary reforms being implemented by Jagananna government in the education sector stand as a role model to other states. Transforming our students into global citizens under which the Corporate Schools are now competing with government schools.”
