Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has criticised the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre for failing to handle the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) examinations fairly. The BRS wondered why the central agencies did not register a case as it voluntarily did on several issues.
BRS senior leader and former Lok Sabha member B Vinod Kumar, at a media conference here, demanded that investigation into the NEET issue be entrusted to Enforcement Directorate in the wake of reports that the examination paper was leaked in Bihar, Gujarat. There were allegations that the paper was sold and crores of rupees changed hands.
He appealed to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to appoint an expert committee to dig up information on the alleged scam. He sought to know why the Enforcement Directorate did not take up investigation voluntarily.
Only 15 per cent of the selected were opting for the all -India quota. The students from Telangana are not opting for seats in medical colleges at national level. There are 25 medical colleges in Telangana and many more are likely to commence soon, he said.
He questioned the silence of the Chief Minister and Minister for Health on the issue. Students all over the country, particularly in Tamil Nadu, have been up in arms against the Central government.
He demanded Revanth Reddy take initiative and appoint an expert committee to find out the truth.
