Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated the Doddi Komuraiah Kuruma Bhavan, honouring the legacy of Doddi Komuraiah, a freedom fighter and leader of the armed farmers’ movement.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister hailed Komuraiah as a warrior who stood at the forefront in the fight for justice and equality. “It is a matter of pride to inaugurate a Bhavan in the name of such a legendary figure who continues to inspire the Kuruma community,” he said.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to providing all facilities for the education and development of the Kuruma community.
Criticizing previous governments, he said, “They did not even consider increasing diet and cosmetic charges for students in welfare hostels. However, our government has tried to improve the quality of education and nutrition by significantly increasing these charges.”
Revanth highlighted the welfare schemes being implemented by the government, including farmer loan waivers and free electricity, while emphasizing the special attention given to marginalized communities.
Referring to Kancha Ilaiah’s perspective, he said, “This is not a feudal Telangana, but a Telangana of the Bahujans. Our Telangana Talli represents the aspirations of every mother who wishes for her children’s success and prosperity.”
On caste census, the Chief Minister said it was nearing completion, with 98% of the work already done. “The caste census is like a mega health check-up. Once it is complete, the Kuruma community will receive their rightful share based on population,” he explained.
Revanth urged the Kuruma community to remain united and politically active. “In the past, Congress allocated two MLA tickets each to the Kuruma and Yadava communities. If you stand together and ensure victory, political parties will continue to recognize your strength,” he stated.
Highlighting the inclusive governance model, the Chief Minister pointed out that four community representatives had been appointed as Whips in the current government.
“With Beerla Ilaiah serving as a Whip, efforts are being made to address your community’s issues effectively,” he said, urging the community to seize opportunities and prioritize representation for their children.
The Chief Minister assured the Kuruma community that the government was dedicated to their political and economic empowerment.
Revanth also emphasized the need to permanently honour Doddi Komuraiah’s legacy. “The government will take steps to ensure Komuraiah’s name is remembered forever,” he concluded.

The event was attended by government officials, Kuruma community leaders and local representatives.
