Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, also the president of the YSR Congress party, is all set to embark on a week-long tour of London commencing on September 2. This, despite his application currently awaiting judgment in the Special Court for Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) cases in Hyderabad, seeking permission for international travel. The court is slated to deliver its decision on Wednesday.

Sources within the YSR Congress party have confirmed that Chief Minister Jagan will begin his journey on the morning of September 2 by paying homage to his late father, YS Rajasekhar Reddy, at Idupulapaya in Kadapa district on the anniversary of his passing. Following this, he will proceed to Hyderabad, accompanied by his wife, Bharati Reddy, and family, to catch a flight to London.

The Chief Minister intends to spend a quality week with his daughter in London before returning to Amaravati on September 8, the sources said.

The Special Court has solicited a response from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) regarding any objections to Jagan’s travel petition. The final decision on granting permission to Chief Minister Jagan will hinge on the CBI’s response, and this decision is expected to be revealed on Wednesday.

Jagan made a similar trip to London en route to the World Economic Forum (WEF) summit in Davos, sparking criticism from the opposition Telugu Desam Party. They alleged that he combined personal travel with official business, drawing attention to the potential utilisation of public funds.
