Coal stocks at Kakatiya Thermal Power Project (KTPP) are dwindling with each passing day. Moreover, the production of coal in the SCCL has been hampered due to heavy rains lashing the State for the past 10 days.
The transportation of coal from open cast mines of the SCCL to the KTPP has been paralysed. If the rains continue in the, the power production is likely to be affected, the officials predict.
The KTPP plant at Ganapuram in the district has an installed capacity to produce 1100 MW. However, the coal production has been hit as the water entered open cast mines here due to heavy rains lashing the area for the past 10 days. The coal stocks with the KTPP came down to 2.60 lakh tons as against the normal level of 3.50 lakh tons.
Moreover, coal is not reaching the KTPP from Tadicharla, Bhupalapalli, Madhavaraopalli OC mines.
