Collector asks officials to prepare action plan for Ganesh festival

District Collector Adwait Kumar has directed the district authorities to prepare an action plan so that people celebrate the Ganesh festival and the Ganesh idol immersion festival in a peaceful atmosphere.
He asked the police, municipal administration, fire, irrigation, medical and health, electricity, transport department officials and personnel should work with coordination to celebrate the festival in a congenial atmosphere.
Addressing a coordination meeting of concerned officials at Collectorate here on Saturday, he asked the Ganesh pandal organisers to secure permission from the police and electricity departments to install Ganesh idols in the pandals for Ganesh festival to be celebrated on Sep 7.
Ganesh Utsav Committee organisers should take upon themselves the responsibility to ensure that there will be no hiccups in Ganesh Navaratri celebrations.
He asked the officials to appoint volunteers, fix CCTV cameras, irrigation department should appoint personnel near tanks and canals. Services of expert swimmers should be roped in at the time of immersion of idols. Cranes of police department should only be used to immerse idols in lakes.
The medical and health department should conduct health camps.
ASP Chennaiah, ZP CEO Narmada, R and B EE Bhimla Naik, DMHO Dr Muralidhar, additional collectors Lenin Vatsal and David, municipal commissioners, RDOs and others were present.
