East Godavari District Collector P Prashanthi has urged unemployed youths to take advantage of the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme, which aims to provide employment opportunities and skill development.
Accompanied by District Industries Officer Raman, AD Pradip Kumar, and District Skill Development Officer M. Perumalla Rao, the Collector unveiled a wall poster to raise awareness about the scheme among jobless youth.
Speaking on the occasion, Collector Prashanthi emphasized that the PM Internship Scheme is designed to offer skilled job opportunities to one crore youth in India over the next five years by placing them in the top 500 companies across the country. She encouraged the youth to make the most of this opportunity.
Reiterating the Central Government’s commitment to creating employment for the youth, the Collector explained that the scheme would provide 12 months of industrial experience along with skill training.
“There are opportunities in over 20 sectors through the PM Internship Scheme. To apply, candidates must have completed high school and possess a certificate from ITI, a diploma from a polytechnic, or a degree like BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA, B.Pharm, or B.Tech. Students enrolled in online or distance learning programs are also eligible,” she clarified.
Aspirants can register for the PM Internship Scheme using their Aadhaar and biodata on the official website, https://pminternship.mca.gov.in. Selected candidates will receive a monthly scholarship of ?5,000 for 12 months, along with a one-time grant of ?6,000.
The PM Internship Scheme commenced on January 10th, with the last date for registration being January 21st. Only candidates aged 21 to 24 years are eligible for the scheme. Collector Prashanthi urged the youth of East Godavari district to seize this valuable opportunity.
