West Godavari District Collector, C Naga Rani, conducted a surprise inspection of Palakollu Area Hospital on Sunday. During her visit, the Collector toured various wards including OP and maternity, engaging with patients and their families to assess the quality of medical services being offered.
Collector Naga Rani reviewed the hospital’s operations, scrutinizing the display board and attendance registers listing doctors and staff on duty. She sought detailed information on daily statistics of deliveries, outpatient cases, and hospitalized patients.
Addressing the gathered medical personnel, the District Collector emphasized the need for improving patient care. “Patients should receive a warm welcome and attentive medical care,” she instructed.
Given the upcoming seasonal challenges, the Collector urged medical staff to remain vigilant against diseases like diarrhoea and dengue. She acknowledged the hospital’s current absence of diarrhoea cases but stressed the importance of readiness should any cases arise.
Collector Naga Rani affirmed her commitment to conducting regular surprise visits to government hospitals. She warned of consequences for lapses in medical service quality or patient complaints, ensuring accountability among doctors and staff.
Looking ahead, she directed officials to launch a diarrhoea control campaign from July 1 to August 31, urging collaboration with charitable organizations for extensive outreach. The Collector also mandated comprehensive education efforts on seasonal diseases for families and the community.
Accompanying the Collector were in-charge Superintendent Dr. O Ravi Kumar and hospital doctors.
