Collector inspects control room

Collector Venkatesh Dhotre and Superintendent of Police Srinivasa Rao, addressing the  district  officials, asked  them to stay put in district headquarters and remain accessible to people. He wanted them to the rush to the needs of the people.
Later the collector, along with the SP, visited the control room set up at the Collectorate and went through the calls received so far. He asked the control room staff to alert the concerned officials information they received at the control room.
The SP asked the people to remain alert since the rains are going to lash on Sunday and Monday too. Pickets have been established near the streams that are in spate and bridges where water is flowing over the road. He asked the policemen and officers to monitor the water level in tanks and ponds and work in coordination with revenue and irrigation officials.
The police were asked to relocate those who live in mud and old and dilapidated houses and asked the people living in such structures to be  careful.
He advised the people, especially children, not to go near the streams and ponds and advised them to touch electric poles or electric equipment. If there is any problems related to electricity supply, the electricity department should be informed.
In case of any problems cropped up due to incessant rains lashing the state, the people should call the police control room on 100 or furnish information to the relevant police station for implementing immediate relief measures.
Earlier, the Collector attended the video-conference conducted by Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinvias Reddy. The Minister directed the Collector and the official to be on alert. He particularly asked the officials ensure that relief and rehabilitation measures should be taken immediately
