District Collector V Prasanna Venkatesh expressed impatience over the tardiness of bankers in extending loans for the unemployed youths for setting up industrial units. Industrial exports developing council meeting was held here on Friday presided over by the Collector.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector asked the bankers to work with coordination and ensure that more loans should be sanctioned to the unemployed to start their own business units.
As many as 86 applications were submitted to the Khadi Rural Industries Board in the current financial year under the PMEGP scheme, out of which 45 applications were pending with the banks and 27 applications were rejected by the banks and the Collector expressed impatience over this.
If there are small mistakes in the application, it is the responsibility of the KVIB officials to give proper guidance to the applicant and coordinate with the bankers to get the grant, the Collector said. Expressing anger over the KVIB officials, the Collector warned of action if they continue to work in the same manner.
Collector Prasanna Venkatesh said that the rejected applications and pending applications should be examined by the bankers immediately and the sanction process should be taken up for those who are eligible.
He asked the officials to submit proposals regarding various divisions of the industrial units being established at G Kothapalli mandal in Dwaraka Tirumala mandal on 73 acres.
The Collector said that 125 applications have been received for establishment of industries in the district and permission has been issued to 119 applications through a single window system. He directed the officials to examine the rest of the applications within the stipulated time.
Meanwhile, the meeting resolved to provide Rs 1.76 crore under the Jagananna Badugu Vikasam scheme to 25 small and medium entrepreneurs under investment subsidy, interest, electricity, stamp duty and land conversion charges.
District Industries GM, P Yesudasu, District panchayat office T Shrinivas Viswanath, Industries and infrastructure zonal manager K Babji, transport deputy commissioner Santha kumara and leader bank district manager Neeladri were among those who were present.
