Collector urges people to adopt organic farming

West Godavari District Collector Chadalavada Nagarani has urged the public to adopt organic farming for better health.
On Monday, the Collector, accompanied by Joint Collector T. Rahul Kumar Reddy, inaugurated an exclusive sales outlet for organic farming products on the premises of the Collector’s office. The outlet features produce cultivated using natural farming methods, brought in by 14 farmers for direct sale.
The Collector and Joint Collector purchased organic vegetables from the stall to encourage the initiative. Speaking on the occasion, Nagarani emphasised the importance of incorporating organic produce into daily diets for improved well-being. She also highlighted the connection between a farmer’s prosperity and the nation’s progress and extended her wishes to farmers on the occasion of National Farmers’ Day.
“It is heartening that an organic farm produce sales outlet has been inaugurated on the Collector’s office premises to mark National Farmers’ Day. Every Monday, visitors submitting grievances at the office will have the opportunity to purchase fresh organic vegetables,” the Collector noted.
She directed officials to promote the cultivation, sale, and consumption of organically grown produce. Among those present at the event were DRO M. Venkateswarulu, District Agriculture Officer Z. Venkateswara Rao, District Organic Agriculture Produce Project Manager Y. Nukaraju, and Coordinator M. Aruna Kumar.
