In the Prajavani meeting, Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep Durishetty instructed officials to take necessary precautions as temperatures are expected to rise and prevent heat stroke among the public.
During the meeting, Collector Anudeep issued several directives to district officials elaborating the need to safeguard labourers and the general public from extreme temperatures.
He instructed officials to identify labour camps and workplaces to ensure an adequate supply of drinking water. Furthermore, all slums, Primary Health Centres (PHCs), and Community Health Centres (CHCs) must stock 200 per cent more ORS packets than the usual requirement. The District Medical and Health Officer has been directed to oversee this.
The Health, Employment, and Labour departments have been asked to formulate an action plan to mitigate the effects of the summer heat. Special awareness programmes on heatwave protection must be conducted at SC, ST, BC and Minority hostels, and ORS packets should be distributed at these locations.
Public awareness campaigns should educate people on ‘dos and don’ts’ during extreme heat conditions.
The Collector said that people should consume more fluids and health staff should remain available to provide timely advice and assistance.
