Collector’s call to protect Waqf lands

Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep Durishetti has ordered the officials to take proper measures to protect the Wakf lands in Hyderabad district. He participated in a meeting on Wakf lands at the Collectorate on Tuesday.
The Collector ordered Wakf Board Inspectors to enter the details of the lands related to the board in the Prohibited Order Book (POB) register. To protect the lands, Wakf Board inspectors, officials of revenue, police and GHMC should take strong measures, he said.
“The lands related to the Wakf Board should be identified mandal, division and circle wise and the data should be submitted to me”, the Collector directed officials.
He said that the encroachers should be removed from the alienated lands and the details of the lands should be updated. Wakf Board officials told the Collector that there is 1,785 acres of land in the name of the Wakf Board.
Additional Collector (Revenue) Venkatachari, District Minority Welfare Officer Ilyas Ahmed, GHMC City Planner Shyam Kumar, Survey and Land Records Officer ADV Sriram and Joint Sub-Register Srinivas participated in the meeting.
