Collector Koya Sriharsha has expressed his impatience over severe negligence in maintaining in sanitation in Government General Hospital at Godavarikhani. He underlined the need for improving sanitation in the hospital.
Taking part in Godavarikhani General Hospital development committee held on Saturday, the collector reviewed the medical and health services being provided to patients and the style of working of doctors and hospital personnel.
The Collector called for closely monitoring the sanitation contractor’s services and foolproof implementation of the sanitation with the help of the sanitation workers, he said laying emphasis on improving the sanitation in the hospital.
If there was no improvement in the sanitation in the hospital, the Collector suggested change of the sanitation contractor.
Further, the Collector called for taking steps to prevent ragging from taking place at any cost in the Medical College at Ramagundam. The construction of 355-bed medical college affiliated hospital should be completed on time i.e. by next July, he added.
The conduct of the hospital staff towards the patients should be closely monitored, he said asking the hospital authorities to review the working of the hospital every week.
Ramagundam MLA Raj Thakur, Additional Collector Arunasri, Hospital Superintendent Dr Dayal Singh, elected people’s representatives, medical and health department officials were among those present at the meeting.
