A heartwarming tale of swift administrative action unfolded as District Collector V Prasanna Venkatesh ensured a deserving student’s enrollment at the prestigious National Institute of Technology (NIT).

Sources reveal that Deyyala Srinu, a bright young scholar hailing from Kannapuram village in Koyyalagudem mandal, achieved an impressive ranking in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains. His hard work paid off when he secured a coveted seat at NIT Agartala in Tripura State during the counselling process.

However, a crucial hurdle stood in Srinu’s path – the submission of his OBC (Other Backward Classes) certificate for a vital fee concession from the Central government. A twist of fate struck when the OBC certificate initially submitted by the student was unexpectedly rejected by the college administration, citing technical reasons.

Time was of the essence, as the student was required to resubmit the OBC certificate by Saturday evening to retain eligibility for the fee concession. Unfortunately, Saturday was a holiday and the Tahsildar, responsible for issuing such certificates, was out of town.

The local media promptly brought this pressing issue to the attention of Collector Prasanna Venkatesh. Displaying remarkable alacrity, the Collector immediately engaged with the concerned Tahsildar, even on holiday, and ensured the issuance of the requisite OBC certificate. This extraordinary effort to accommodate the urgency of the situation underscores the dedication of the district administration.

Thanks to this decisive action, Srinu managed to obtain the necessary OBC certificate in time, ensuring his eligibility for the coveted fee concession offered by the Central government. This financial relief paved the way for Deyyala Srinu to take his rightful place at NIT Agartala, realising his dreams of higher education.

The student’s parents expressed their gratitude to Collector Prasanna Venkatesh’s compassionate and prompt response.
