Commerce is most sought after in TG: Prof Limbadri

Department of Commerce, Osmania University organised the inaugural function of Vanijya 2024 -Telangana Commerce Post-Graduates Meet at the University College of Commerce and Business Management, OU on Friday. It is a inter-university two-day event which commenced on Friday. Prof. R Limbadri, Chairman of TSCHE and chief guest of the event stated that among all under-graduate courses. Commerce is the most sought after in Telangana.
Students from five universities – Osmania University, Palamuru University, Telangana University, Mahatma Gandhi University and Satavahana University and their constituent and affiliated colleges registered for the various formal and informal events.
Prof. D Chennappa, Head of the Department of Commerce, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the unique activities undertaken by the Department of Commerce in recent times. He conveyed the objective of organising a post-graduate meet for Commerce students. Prof. Indrakanti Sekhar, the Convener of Vanijya 2024, briefed the participants on the various events organised and the rules pertaining to them. He thanked the sponsors for their support in organising an event of such magnitude.
Prof. Limbadri expressed his delight in associating with the event. He noted that the number of Commerce under-graduates in Telangana surpassed those admitted through EAPCET in engineering courses. He urged the students to be adaptable and diligent in their decisions.
Prof. M Gangadhar, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, urged the students to change their mindset from being job-seekers to job-providers. He exhorted them to look towards entrepreneurship and startups, which are very much the need of the hour. He emphasised a holistic development of the students.
Dr Riyaz, Chairman of Grandhalaya Parishad, Telangana, emphasised the need for developing industry-relevant skills. He expressed his happiness in being associated with the event and congratulated the organisers for bringing all the PG students of Commerce on to a single platform.
