As the city prepares to face heavy rains, the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, CV Anand, has called on the public to opt for working from home (WFH) unless it is absolutely necessary to move out.

With the government declaring holidays on Friday and Saturday, the top cop is seeking the cooperation of citizens to help the traffic police who continue to work despite the inclement weather.

In a social media post, Commissioner CV Anand said, “I request all citizens to cooperate with Hyderabad Traffic Police officers who are wearing raincoats and jungle shoes and discharging duties in the continuous drizzle. The government has declared holidays. Please work from home unless it is an emergency.”

Reiterating his message in Telugu and Hindi, the Commissioner said, “Mee andari sahakaram korutunnanu.

Aab sabka taawoon guzarish karta hoon,” stressing the importance of cooperation during adverse weather conditions.

The netizens responded positively to Commissioner CV Anand’s call for cooperation.
One netizen commented, “Glad to see the police protected against the weather with proper attire. Wish them the best and I do feel for them.”

Another user said, “Thanks for the guidance to keep safe. It should be the responsibility of every resident to ensure cooperation with government agencies on the field in these situations. Best wishes.”

With heavy rains causing water logging in the city, the citizens echoed the sentiment that staying at home is the need of the hour. They also appreciated the steps taken by the authorities and expressed the hope that the drainage system would be improved in the coming years to prevent such problems.
