Committed to bringing new industries: Sridhar Babu

The Minister for IT and Industries, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, said the primary goal of the government is to attract new companies to Telangana and generate meaningful employment for youth.

On Tuesday, he formally inaugurated the Global Value Centre of Evergent Technologies, a US-based firm, in the Financial District of Nanakramguda in Hyderabad.

Highlighting the achievements of the government under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s leadership, he said that Telangana attracted investments of ?3 lakh crore in the last 18 months.

He elaborated on the state’s proactive initiatives to measure Telangana as a hub for emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Quantum Computing.

He also announced the development of a world-class AI City spread over 200 acres in Hyderabad’s Future City, with the vision of transforming the city into the AI Capital of India.

He said that efforts are underway to design comprehensive training programmes starting from schools, in collaboration with industry experts.

Despite nearly two lakh engineering graduates emerging from the state each year, a significant number lack the essential industry-aligned skills, he observed with concern.

The government established the Young India Skills University to bridge the gap between academia and industry. Minister Sridhar Babu also said the government is trying out a structured approach to elevate Telangana’s economy to the USD $1 trillion mark.

He reaffirmed the government’s unwavering support for young entrepreneurs who are driving change through bold new ideas. Additionally, he announced plans to transform the Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in Hyderabad into Global Value-Added Centres.

Regarding Evergent Technologies’ Global Value Centre, the Minister noted that it has 600 professionals, with plans to expand the workforce to 1,000 shortly.

He extended his gratitude to Evergent’s leadership team for choosing Hyderabad as their operational base and assured full government support in all aspects.

The event was attended by senior IAS officer Bhavani Sri, IT advisor Sai Krishna, Vijay Sajja, Founder and CEO of Evergent Technologies, among other dignitaries.
