Complete 19,489 houses by January 30: Collector

NTR District Collector Dr S Dilli Rao has directed officials to finish 19,489 houses and make them ready for the housewarming ceremony by January 30 next year. To achieve the target, Housing and other relevant department officials should set weekly targets and monitor progress, he said.
The District Collector convened a video conference on Housing, Adudam Andhra, the final voters’ list, priority building construction and other issues with all Revenue Divisional Officers (RDO), Municipal Commissioners, Special Officers, Tahsildars, MPDOs and other engineering officers from the collectorate in Vijayawada on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Dilli Rao said that following the directions from the state government, the housewarming ceremony would be conducted soon. For that, the officials concerned should complete 19,489 house constructions at the Jagananna Layouts in the district by January 30, he said.
Further, he emphasized that officials should concentrate on the construction from the roof level and roof-casting houses. For that, they should make a plan to complete the target houses within the stipulated period, he directed. As many as 3,955 houses are targeted in the Mylavaram constituency, followed by Tiruvuru – 481, Jaggaiahpet – 1,169, Nandigama – 1,756, Vijayawada East – 2,663, Vijayawada Central – 5,453, and in the Vijayawada West constituency 4.012 houses must be completed, he said.
Later, the Collector instructed the officials that they should resolve the applications on the voters’ list of objections and claims. He put December 26 as the deadline for that and asked for a comprehensive voters’ list by January 1 2024.
Also, Dilli Rao reviewed Adudam Andhra, the sports festival which will be conducted from December 15 to February 3. The players’ registration began on November 27 and as of now, 10,000 registrations were completed, he said. Myalavarm, Ibrahimpatnam, Penuganchiprolu, Jaggaiahpet, Chandrlapadu, and Kanchikacherla Mandals are lagging in the registrations, he said.
Joint Collector Dr P Sampath Kumar, DRO SV Nageswara Rao, Housing PD Rajini Kumari, DEO CV Renuka, DSDO SA Azeez and others were present.
