Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy directed officials to speed up the Seetharama Project in Khammam district. He emphasized the need to fast-track the tender process and to ensure that there is no delay in land acquisition.
The Minister also stressed the importance of coordination among officials to get technical approvals and urged them to speed up administrative clearances.
The Seetharama Project’s pump houses were inaugurated by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on August 15. Reviewing the progress of the tunnel and canal construction work on Friday at the Jalasoudha, Uttam held discussions with fellow ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Irrigation Department officials.
The government’s Irrigation Advisor, Aditya Das Nath, Chief Secretary Rahul Bojja, Special Secretary Prashant Jeevan Patil, and ENCs Anil Kumar and Nagender Rao were also present. The Seetharama Project CE Srinivas Reddy and Khammam District CE Vidyasagar attended the meeting.
During the review, Uttam pointed out that lethargy in land acquisition should be avoided. He asked officials to ensure that administrative approvals are processed without delay and to complete tender procedures immediately. He also asked officials to coordinate in addressing technical matters.
Reiterating the commitment made by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, he stressed that the project must be completed within the stipulated time frame.
