Shadnagar MLA Veerlapalli Shankar has called upon Congress workers to actively participate in the government’s ongoing survey for beneficiary selection under key welfare schemes, ensuring that eligible individuals are aware and able to apply. Addressing a Gram Sabha meeting held at Kummari Guda Brahmangari Gudi in Kothur Municipality, he emphasized that there is no need for eligible beneficiaries to worry, and urged people not to be misled by opposition statements.
The survey is being conducted to identify beneficiaries for various schemes, including Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa, New Food Security Cards (ration cards), and Indiramma Illu. MLA Shankar highlighted that the application process will continue until the 25th of this month, and those who are not on the official lists should be guided on how to apply for these benefits through Gram Sabhas.
He praised the Congress government for introducing these schemes, which prioritise the welfare of the underprivileged. He noted that the Congress government is committed to providing agricultural land to farmers, housing for the poor under Indiramma Illu, financial support for landless workers, and the issuance of new ration cards to those who have been waiting for a decade.
Taking a dig at the previous BRS government, MLA Shankar criticised their failure to issue a single ration card in the last ten years. He urged people to support the welfare initiatives without any political bias, stressing that the schemes are designed to uplift the economically weaker sections of society.
The event was attended by Congress Indiramma Committee members, Congress workers, and government officials. Several local leaders, including Congress town president Sudarshan Goud, former joint mandal MPP Sivashankar Goud, councilor Madhavi Gopal Goud, and others, participated in the program.
MLA Shankar reaffirmed that the Congress government is working with a commitment to the welfare of the poor and will continue to implement schemes effectively to benefit all eligible citizens.
