Cong activists demand tickets for TS stir participants

The Congress Telangana Udyama Karula (activists) meeting has asked the party to give priority to activists who participated in the Telangana movement while allocating tickets for Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

The meeting also demanded that the party should implement the party’s Udaipur Declaration in Telangana.

The activists, who played key roles in the Telangana movement from 2001 to 2014, and continuing in the Congress held a meeting on Sunday under the leadership of Telangana Martyrs Aspirations Achievement JAC, and Movement Plan Implement Committee Chairman, former MLC S. Ramulu Naik.

The meeting passed six resolutions demanding that the Congress should fulfil the aspirations of Telangana Martyrs in the spirit of the Constitution and protect democracy.

The meeting demanded that the Congress should give tickets to BC, SC, ST and minority candidates in general category constituencies. The meeting demanded that the AICC, TPCC and Committees have to take steps regarding this.

It also demanded that the party should take up People’s Awareness Tours across Telangana opposing KCR’s corrupt family rule. The meeting demanded that the Congress should appoint an ad hoc committee with Telangana activists, who are with the Congress.

Senior Congress leaders, who actively participated in the Telangana movement like Addanki Dayakar, Bellaiah Naik, Dr Cheruku Sudhakar, Gomasa Srinivas, Chanda Lingaiah Dora, Riyaz Hymath, P Rajeshwara Reddy, Bhumanna Yadav, Malla Reddy, KV Prathap, Dr Laxminarayana, Dr Neelakantam, Juluri Dhanalaxmi, Telangana State Sarpaches President Sajid Khan and others attended the meeting.
