The BJP leadership’s confusing political policy in Telangana is making local BJP leaders think twice regarding their continuation in the BJP.
Meanwhile, the Congress leadership is moving fast to attract BJP leaders as it is now proceeding ahead full blast in Telangana after the victory in Karnataka. But BJP leaders have not given their word to the Congress so far but are willing to join hands with the Congress, it is learnt.
According to sources, the Congress is in touch with seven BJP leaders and it is learnt that they may join the Congress if their talks become a success. It is learnt that the Congress has asked BJP leaders Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, Aleti Maheshwar Reddy, AP Jithender Reddy, M. Raghunandan Rao, G. Vivek, Chandrasekhar and Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy to join it.
It is learnt that talks are over with some of the leaders mentioned above.
However, discussions have not been completed with the others as they are asking the Congress to guarantee them tickets and other issues.
When ‘The Pioneer’ contacted the BJP’s Tamil Nadu joint in-charge Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy ruled out joining the Congress. He said not only Telangana Congress leaders but Congress leaders from across the nation have been asking him to return to the Congress.
Sudhakar said that the Congress has become the Indian National Commercial Congress.
“I am committed to the BJP. I have been inviting leaders who were asking me to join the Congress to join the BJP for the sake of the nation,” Sudhakar said.
