The Congress party has taken up an innovative survey to know the pulse of the people of Telangana unobtrusively. Accordingly, surveyors, drawn from various states, are trying to feel the pulse of the people at hotels, bus stands, Collectorates, mandal offices and other places where people gather everyday.

For this survey, the Congress has fielded its activists drawn from Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Kerala. They are on the field now to know the prospects of the Congress party vis-à-vis those of the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samiti party and other parties.

It is learnt that activists from Maharashtra are surveying people in the districts bordering Maharashtra -Adilabad, Nizamabad and Karimnagar districts. Activists from Karnataka are taking to people in the districts of Medak, Mahabubnagar, and Hyderabad. Those from Kerala are on surveys in Khammam, Warangal, and Nalgonda districts. These surveys are not of the routine type involving questions or handing out questionnaires.

The surveyors are going to busy bus stands, street hotels, mandal offices, collector offices and other offices to get involved and know details of issues faced by people.

The accent is on knowing quietly what people are discussing about the ruling BRS party, Congress, and other political parties in the state. The surveyors are observing people taking up problems with officials. They are noting down the problems which government officials are not addressing.

It is learnt that thesurveyors will prepare a report and submit it to the party. The party will include the issues of the people in its manifesto.

The party would use people’s problems in their election campaign, it is learnt.
