BRS Working President KT Rama Rao lashed out at what he called a Congress-BJP conspiracy to malign the Kaleshwaram Project, accusing both parties of deliberately defaming a lifeline that has changed the destiny of Telangana’s farmers.

He was speaking at the Telangana Bhavan after attending a PowerPoint presentation by BRS MLA Harish Rao titled ‘Kaleshwaram Project: Countering False Propaganda with Facts.’

Calling the barrage of allegations a “targeted disinformation campaign,” KTR said, “For the last year and a half, the Congress and the BJP have been working hand in glove to dismantle Telangana’s irrigation legacy. But facts cannot be erased through political vengeance.”

He asserted that former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had designed the Kaleshwaram Project with the sole aim of using every drop of Godavari water and solving the state’s drought problem.

KTR claimed that under the BRS, not only Kaleshwaram, but the Palamuru-Ranga Reddy and Sitarama projects too, reached full completion. “KCR was not just a CM, but a visionary who turned Telangana green and gave farmers their dignity back,” he said.

He lambasted the Congress for failing the state on the three core aspirations of water, funds, and jobs.

“They are looting funds, colluding with contractors, and now trying to whitewash their misdeeds by making baseless allegations against us,” he alleged.

KTR also questioned the silence of both the Congress and BJP leaders on what he described as “unauthorised projects” in Andhra Pradesh, stating that selective scrutiny was being used to divert attention from the failures of other states.
