Cong govt committed to protect environment: MLA

Shadnagar MLA Veerlapalli Shankar highlighted the government’s commitment to environmental protection.
He was participating Vanamahotsavam at Kammadan village imder Shadnagar constituency. The event saw the participation of local leaders, forest officials, and students from the Kammadan Gurukula School.
MLA Shankar highlighted the historical significance of the Vanamahotsava programme, which was initiated in 1950 by the Congress government under the leadership of the then Union Minister KM Munshi. He reiterated that the Congress government aimed at planting 20 crore saplings across the state, encouraging each individual to grow five to ten plants to contribute to this effort.
“The primary aim of the government is to balance the environment, and programmes like Vanamahotsava play a crucial role in achieving this goal,” said MLA Shankar during his address.
Forest Section Officer Ravinder Goud, Forest Beat Officer Aziz, Kammadan Ex-MPTC Arunamma Anjaiah, Ex-Sarpanch Narsimlu, Ex-Deputy Sarpanch Amarnath Reddy, ZPTC Venkatram Reddy, Block Congress President Balaraju, and Mandal Congress President Srikanth Reddy were among the key participants. Additionally, local Congress workers, leaders, and students from Kammadan Gurukula School actively took part in the plantation drive.
