‘Cong govt failed to serve quality meals at schools’

Must read

Students of Kothapalli Government School of Kotagiri Mandal, Nizamabad district were served rice mixed with chilli paste and oil to fill their hungry stomachs. Reacting to this news, Bharat Rashtra Samithi former MLA T Harish Rao stated that it is inhumane to serve poor quality lunch in government schools.
He also stated that the Congress government is so irresponsible towards the future citizens of India. It has stopped the CM’s breakfast scheme which provides nutritious food to the students and miserably failed to provide mid-day meals. “This is proof of the careless attitude of the Congress government. The students are not getting proper meals due to the pending food bills and wages of cook-cum-helpers related to the mid-day meal scheme. I request Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka to respond immediately and pay the pending bills of the mid-day meal scheme, pay the salaries of the workers and fill the stomachs of the students studying in government schools”, he added.
The Nizamabad District Education Officer conducted an inquiry on food issues served at Kothapalli Government School on Sunday. Instructions were given to the concerned cooks and teachers. He stated that steps have been taken to provide quality meals to the students from Monday. So far, the District Education department officials released Rs 58.69 crore towards the arrears to be paid to the mid-day meal workers. Another Rs 18 crore will be released on Monday.
