Minister for Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkata Reddy has said that the government will waive farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh by August 15.
He was the chief guest at the farewell meeting for local body representatives at the Yadagirigutta Mandal Praja Parishad office on Thursday. Earlier, he paid floral tributes to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, the first martyr of Telangana struggle Doddi Komaraiah and Swami Vivekananda and Alluri Sitarama Raju.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister congratulated the members of MPP, ZPTC, MPTC and Sarpanches for their good work as public representatives during their five-year tenure. He said that Rs 40 crore would be spent on development works in the district. The people’s representative should stand by people and serve them.
He said that the problems faced by auto-rickshaw drivers in Yadagirigutta had been solved and they were granted a living allowance. Now, the auto-rickshaws are allowed to ply to hillock.
He said that the Chief Minister’s attention was brought to the drinking water supply through Mission Bhagiratha for Bhuvanagiri and Alair constituencies and Godavari water would be provided to every village through Mission Bhagiratha at a cost of Rs 210 crore by the end of September.
Government Whip and Alair MLA Beerla Ayilaiah praised the representatives of the local bodies.
MPP Shrishailam, ZPTC Anuradha, MPTCs, public representatives and officials participated in the programme.
