Cong issues show-cause notice to Komatireddy

The Congress high command has issued a show-cause notice to TPCC Star Campaigner Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Sunday for stating that the Congress will lose the Munugode by-poll in a video clip that went viral and an audio clip in which he sought the support of a Congress leader named Jabbar for his brother BJP candidate Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy. The show-cause notice sought Venkat’s reply within 10 days as to why disciplinary action should not be taken against him.

AICC General Secretary and Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) member secretary Tariq Anwar served the show-cause notice. The show-cause notice says, “B. ManickamTagore, MP, the in-charge Telangana has brought to the notice of the Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) that in an audio clip you asked Jabbar Bhai, a Congress leader to support the BJP candidate in the Munugode Assembly by-election who happens to be your sibling against the Congress candidate Palvai Srvanthi. The voice clip went viral on social media, and prominent electronic and print media.

Prima facie, it is a breach of discipline. Therefore, this show cause notice is being issued seeking your reply within 10 days as to why disciplinary action should not be taken against you as per the provisions of the Indian National Congress constitution.”
