Pointing out that double engine means ‘Adani-Pradhani,’ TPCC President Revanth Reddy declared that Congress MPs are ready to resign from Parliament for the sake of Rahul Gandhi.
Revanth said that Adani’s engine has been repaired and the Prime Minister (Pradhani) is afraid.
The BJP which mocked Rahul by calling him ‘Pappu’ now has learnt that Rahul is a firebrand and that is why the BJP wanted to remove him from their path.
The BJP disqualified Rahul hastily for pulling up the BJP government on the Adani issue, Revanth said. One can understand how much Prime Minister Modi is afraid of Rahul. The BJP now means British Janata Party, he said.
Addressing the satyagraha at the Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday as part of the nationwide protest to condemn the disqualification of Rahul from the Lok Sabha following his conviction in a defamation case by a Surat court, Revanth said that Adani is ‘looting’ the nation’s assets.
Narcotic drugs worth thousands of crores are being smuggled through the Adani port and Adani is trying to loot the nation and make Indian youth addicted to drugs, he said.
Rahul has already said the BJP has been trying to take over the nation using Adani. However, Adani was exposed by the Hindenburg report.
The BJP blocked Rahul when he tried to file a complaint with the ED seeking a probe. He said that Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah can do nothing and that the Congress will fight for Rahul Gandhi.
Addressing the gathering, Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat said that the BJP disqualified Rahul for killing democracy. He made it clear that they will continue their fight till justice is done to Rahul. He said that they will resign their MP posts if Sonia and Kharge direct them. “We are all one on that,” he said.
Nalgonda MP N. Uttam Kumar Reddy claimed that the Modi government’s main objective is to protect Adani and that Rahul is just a target.
He said that imposing the maximum punishment of two-year sentence for criminal defamation is unheard of and that cases against BJP leaders are dealt with maximum leniency.
He said that criminal defamation complaints can be filed only by the person against whom the remarks were made and he should prove how he was damaged personally. In this case, the persons who were named did not file the case and the person who filed the case was not named, Revanth said.
Telangana Congress in-charge Manikrao Thakre said that the Congress would stand by Rahul. “The time has come to show our strength. The nation has understood what Rahul has done with his Jodo Yatra. Fear has started in the BJP,” he said.
