Congress leaders with an Osmania University background have appealed to TPCC President Revanth Reddy to allocate at least three Assembly seats to them.

The OU leaders, Koturi Manavatha Roy (Sathupally), Durgam Bhaskar (Chennuru constituency), Bala Laxmi (Jangaon constituency), Kuruva Vijay Kumar (Gadwala constituency), Konagala Mahesh (Karimnagar constituency) and Hyderabad Central University leader Dr Lingam Yadav (Munugode) met TPCC President Revanth Reddy, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, TPCC Campaign Committee Chairman Madhu Yashki Goud and submitted a memorandum asking them to give at least two tickets to OU student leaders who had participated in the Telangana movement.

Recalling Rahul Gandhi’s assurance to OU’s Telangana movement student leaders that the party will give them Congress tickets, the OU leaders appealed to Revanth Reddy, Bhatti Vikramarka and Madhu Yashki Goud to implement Rahul’s promise.

They told Revanth Reddy, Bhatti Vikramarka and Madhu Yashki Goud that the BRS gave one LS seat and three MLA seats to OU student leaders in 2014.

In 2018, the BRS allocated three Assembly seats and 30 corporation chairman positions to OU student leaders. Keeping the BRS policy towards OU leaders in view, the Congress has to do justice to them by allocating at least three Assembly seats this time, they said.
