AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi has assured me that she is ready to come to Telangana whenever the Congress wants, Bhongir Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said.
He also said that candidates will be announced two to three months before the elections.
Venkat had a meeting with Priyanka Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi on Friday at New Delhi for 20 minutes. Later, speaking to the media, Venkat said that he had explained the political situation in Telangana.
“We also discussed CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka’s padayatra and Priyanka’s meetings. I invited Sonia and Priyanka for Khammam and Nalgonda public meetings. Sonia told me that she will come if possible. They will inform me about their Telangana tour dates only after July 7,” he said.
Venkat said that he had urged Priyanka to come to Telangana every 10 days and to cover 33 districts in three months.
“I have also told Sonia that TS Congress leaders are united and that there are no differences among them. I asked Priyanka to give more time to Telangana apart from Rahul Gandhi. I have also told Sonia that Telangana leaders are cooperating with each other’s padayatras.
Sonia told me that they will concentrate on Telangana,” Venkat said.He said that Priyanka told him that the Congress has to win more MP seats in TS and to ensure the formation of a Congress government in Telangana. She also asked him to move like Karnataka Congress leaders.
