TPCC President Revanth Reddy said the Congress will usher in ‘Indiramma Rajyam’ after winning the next election and will pay Rs 4,000 as pension every month. “We will give Rs 4,000 to the old, widows, disabled, beedi workers, single women, toddy tappers, handloom workers, AIDS victims, filaria and dialysis patients,” he said.
On Tuesday, PACS Director Rajasekhar Reddy of Chevella constituency, former Market Committee Director Srikanth, former BJP ZPTC Ravinder and many former Sarpanchs and BRS workers joined the Congress.
Revanth addressed them at his Jubilee Hills residence after inviting them to join the party.
He criticised KCR who had said that the lives of people will improve after Telangana State formation. He said that KCR has forgotten the poor and none of the promises he made to Dalits like providing three acres and double-bedroom houses was fulfilled.
He said that farmers have not been given an appropriate support price and that 88,000 farmers have died after KCR became the CM. He has also asked farmers not to cultivate paddy.Revanth said that it was during Congress rule that land was distributed to the Dalits and Indiramma houses were given. He said that KCR is looting the wealth of the state for his family. KCR’s family has earned Rs 1 lakh crore and 10,000 acres of land around Hyderabad have been grabbed. The police are being sent to silence those who question this, he said.
He said that the KCR government has scrapped the Pavala Vaddi and Bangaru Talli Schemes.
He reiterated the promise to waive loans of up to Rs 2 lakh taken by farmers once the Congress comes to power. He said that two lakh vacancies in government service will be filled and an LPG cylinder will be given for Rs 500.
The government will bear medical expenses up to Rs 5 lakh for the poor through the Aarogyasri scheme, he said. Revanth said that poor people who build a house will be given a subsidy of Rs 5 lakh.
Revanth also responded to the Meerpet girl rape on Twitter. Hyderabad, which KCR claims to have turned into a safe cosmopolitan city, has become a hotspot for ganja and drugs under BRS rule. On Monday in Singareni Colony, and on Tuesday in Meerpet, it is disheartening to see girls being brutalized. The police are being used for political purposes and there is no concern for people’s lives. He tweeted, ‘Tiragabadam – Tarimikodadam’ about the current government.
