Nalgonda Congress MP N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Assembly election schedule will be released on October 6 and that the Congress will win 70 seats in Telangana.
He said that BRS MLAs are facing a lot of opposition from the people as they behave like dictators and that Congress cadres must remind the people about the government’s anti-people acts. He said that the Congress will win more seats if party workers work hard.
Speaking to journalists on Saturday, Uttam said that the BJP is not in the fray at all in Telangana. He suggested that those who want Congress tickets should be with the people. Congress can win if party cadres launch a door-to-door campaign, he said.
Uttam said that the AICC has been conducting surveys and that leaders have to work hard if they want a party ticket. It is not possible to get the ticket if leaders say that they will work only if the party gives them a ticket, he said.
The Congress can win easily if minorities support the party. He said that 90 per cent of the minorities in Karnataka were with the Congress. There is a chance that minorities will be polarised in rural areas but the situation in Telangana is different.
