The meeting of Opposition party MLAs with the Chief Mimister A Revanth Reddy is an indication of their joining the Congress in future. It may be correct in the case of BRS MLAs, but not in the case of BJP MLAs. Recently, some BRS MLAs met Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. With this, speculation has started that the BRS MLAs may join the Congress soon. BJP Sirpur MLA Palvai Harish Babu met Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. This time also speculation began that the BJP MLA also may join the Congress. But even if the BJP MLAs are ready to join, the Congress is not ready to admit them.
TPCC sources said that the party has taken a decision not to touch the BJP MLAs. At present, BJP is in power at the Centre and there are chances for the BJP retaining power at the Centre after the coming Lok Sabha elections. The Congress formed the government in the State with not overwhelming minority. Congress has just four MLAs majority over the required strength to form the government.
Under this circumstances, if the Congress admits the BJP MLAs, the BJP, which is in power at the Centre may not keep quiet. If the BJP also takes up the same operation, the Congress government in the State may face problems and the existence of the Congress government also may become questionable.
With this scare, the TPCC reportedly has taken a decision not to touch the BJP MLAs. When the meeting of BJP MLA with CM Revanth led to speculation, the BJP leaders questioned what is wrong in meeting the Chief Minister by their party MLA. But the BJP MLA who met the CM is silent.
But in case of BRS MLAs, it was reverse. When the BRS MLAs met the CM, there was speculation that they may join the Congress. The BRS MLAs who met the CM held a media conference and questioned what was wrong in meeting the CM by them.
But the party leadership is silent on this. Sources said that the BRS leadership thought if it says that there is nothing wrong in meeting the CM than every BRS MLA will meet the CM and the speculation over their joining the Congress will appear in the media and thus damage the image of the party. Due to this only, the BRS leadership kept silent on this issue, sources added.
