Congress govt will always stand by farmers: MLA

In an event held in Elikatta village under Farooq Nagar Mandal on Wednesday, Shadnagar MLA Veerlapalli Shankar emphasised the importance of farmers, stating that the country’s progress depended on the welfare of its farmers. The event, organised by local leaders, including Congress Party mandal unit president Challa Srikanth Reddy, Block Congress president Balaraju Goud, Congress Party Village Committee President Baddula Mallaiah Yadav, and MPTCs Association State Vice President Kavali Srisailam, saw MLA Shankar being honored for his contributions.
Speaking at the meeting, MLA Shankar paid a tribute to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by garlanding her statue in the village. He also highlighted the Congress government’s recent initiative of farm loan waiver up to Rs 2 lakh, providing them with much-needed financial relief. The local farmers expressed their gratitude by honoring the MLA, who, in turn, honored them for their hard work and dedication.
He criticised the previous t BRS government for depriving people of their freedom. He stated that the previous government had consistently failed the farmers and the general populace by suppressing their voices and concerns. He recalled instances of illegal detentions and the closure of Dharna Chowk, which prevented people from protesting. He said the current Congress government restored freedom and allowed all communities to express themselves.
