It appears that the political picture in Telangana is changing from time to time. In Telangana, power is revolving around the BRS, the Congress and the BJP.
After seeing recent developments the main opposition Congress is now happy. The fight between the BRS and the BJP has reached its peak. If both parties continue their war the Congress thinks that it stands to benefit in elections.
It is a known fact that the BJP has no cadres or leaders across the state. The Congress thinks that the people of Telangana are fed up with KCR’s 10-year rule. If the BRS and the BJP continue their fight the Congress thinks that people will turn towards them.
Depending on developments in the Delhi liquor scam in which KCR’s daughter BRS MLC Kavitha is facing allegations, the BRS and the BJP will come on to the roads criticising each other.
Interestingly, the BJP is in power at the Centre and the BRS in the state for the last two terms. The Congress has been away from power both at the Centre and in the state.
If the BRS and the BJP continue to criticise the Congress the people may ask them both what they did in the last 10 years.
Moreover, it is fact that the people of Telangana got a separate state only because of the Congress. But the Congress has failed to cash it due to BRS’ sentimental politics. Now there is no more TS sentiment in Telangana and people have realised that the rule of the BRS and the BJP has not benefitted them and this may help the Congress.
For BRS leaders who want to change their party, the first priority is the Congress. Even though the Congress has not been in power for the last two terms it has its own image and vote bank. The internal wrangling in the Congress is gradually ebbing and this is a good sign.
The Congress wants to go to the people and campaign extensively that the BRS and the BJP are fighting each other for their own objectives at the cost of Telangana’s development.
The Congress strongly feels that the BJP has no chance of coming to power in Telangana. It thinks that if the people decide to reject the BRS the only alternative is the Congress.
The Congress hopes that if the BRS and the BJP intensify their fight people will turn towards them.
