The Congress Legislature Party leader (CLP) Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has assured the employees that the Congress Party, after it comes to power in the next elections, will abolish the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and restore the Old Pension Schemes.Â
Addressing a press conference at Linganuru Palli in Achampet constituency as part of his People’s March Padayatra on day 82 on Tuesday, Bhatti said that the Congress party, if elected to power, would also cancel the GO 317 that made the government employees forego their native status and take up the transfers as per the earlier process.
He cautioned the police personnel who failed to discharge their duties following the rules. He condemned the police for taking instructions from the ruling party leaders and becoming stooges to them. He warned the police of action if they continued to throttle the voice of dissent. He condemned the police for detaining the Congress leaders ahead of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s visit to the district. He ridiculed the Chief Minister for addressing the functions without interacting with people.Â
He expressed the opinion that the BRS government, which has been cracking down on civil rights activists, would be shown the door in the next elections.Â
Saying that the genuine people’s representatives would mingle with people, Bhatti said that the common people he came across during his people’s march expressed aghast at the police foisting false cases on opponents in the name of maintaining law and order. The police were also registering cases under various sections as dictated by MLAs and this could endanger the democratic process, he pointed out.
Bhatti said the BRS party will not be in power permanently and the institutions and systems established should not be weakened and destroyed. The DGP and SPs should take the initiative to enforce discipline among theirÂ
subordinate officers down to the field level and make them stick to rules, he said. Â
