The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, criticised the Congress, stating that while it was the one who imposed a ban on Naxals in the past, today it is advocating talks with them.

He said that this was a classic example of the Congress’s double standards and expressed shock over the idea of viewing those who kill innocent people through a “social lens.”

He also questioned the logic of holding talks with those who carry guns and murder innocent unarmed civilians.

He also demanded to know what people like Professor Haragopal and Varavara Rao had achieved after decades of Naxalite violence and emphasised that Naxals must give up weapons and join the mainstream.

Sanjay urged civil rights leaders like Haragopal and Varavara Rao to ask Naxals to give up violence and surrender.

“Now that we are stating facts, they are trying to halt Operation Kagaar and begin talks. Wasn’t the Congress that first banned Naxals? Today, to please Naxals, both KCR and Revanth are competing to praise them,” he said.

“Isn’t it true that when Revanth Reddy was in the TDP, Naxals tried to assassinate Chandrababu Naidu with a bomb at Alipiri? Didn’t they murder a peaceful leader like Sripada Rao? Weren’t Congress MLAs Chittem Narsi Reddy and Ragya Nayak killed by Naxals? Didn’t they kill Sama Jaganmohan Reddy for hoisting the national flag and then replace it with black flags?” he said.
