A police constable died after his gun allegedly misfired at Mint Compound in Khairabad on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Ramaiah who was a security guard at the printing press in the compound.
Saifabad Inspector Sattaiah said that when the gun misfired Ramaiah was cleaning it. He was injured and was shifted to Nampally Care Hospital but the doctors declared that he had died instantly. Later, the body was taken to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem.
The Saifabad police and the Clues team arrived at the scene for investigation and questioned the other security personnel.
A case has been registered and is being investigated, the Saifabad police said.
