Collector P Prashanthi has said that the construction of 25,383 houses has been completed in the district.
Chief Secretary K S Jawahar Reddy held a review meeting with the Collector and other officials through video conference on Saturday and he reviewed various issues including the housing construction, holding of national weaver’s day, agriculture, animal husbandry dairy development and Jagananna Surakha with the officials.
The Chief Secretary directed the Collector to take steps to complete the construction of priority buildings at the earliest and implement a special action plan on the stage conversion. He also asked the officials to organize the Mera Mitti-Mera Desh programme to highlight the culture and tradition of the country. He directed the Collector and other officials to take steps to provide amenities in Jagananna layouts.
Speaking on the occasion, Collector P Prashanthi explained the details and said that the construction of 72,059 houses in the district was set as a target of which the construction of 25,383 houses haD been completed. She said that 37,254 houses are in BL state conversion state, adding that steps will be taken to complete the construction of soak pits in the vicinity of the houses.
The Collector said that 4,844 applications out of the 6,346 applications received since May 9 this year regarding Jaganannku Chebudam have been resolved. Out of these, 1,041 are under resolution and 437 have been re-opened, she said. The officials concerned met directly with the applicants to satisfy them.
Prashanthi said that phase 2 survey has been completed in 31 villages out of 131 villages under the re-survey and instructions have been given to the Tahsildars to achieve the set targets in the remaining 100 villages.
Collector Prashanthi told the Chief Secretary that efforts are being made to speed up the construction of secretariat buildings and health clinics under the priority buildings. The completed buildings are inaugurated time to time by the local public representatives.
The Collector said that the field level officials were directed to hand over the rest of the buildings as well. Joint Collector S Ram Sundar Reddy and other leaders were present.
