NTR District Collector Dr. G. Lakshmisha, emphasizing the urgency of public welfare projects in the district, called for greater coordination among various departmental officials.
During a meeting held at the Collectorate on Thursday, Dr. Lakshmisha reviewed ongoing and upcoming projects with officials from the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, Revenue Department, South Central Railway, NHAI, Water Resources, Drainage, Panchayat Raj Engineering, and Rural Water Supply. The meeting aimed to evaluate approved works, their progress, and identify actions required to ensure smooth execution of future projects.
Dr. Lakshmisha urged officials to expedite the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and promptly complete joint inspection processes. He stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination to ensure timely completion of railway-related projects. The Collector also provided guidance on fund allocation under the Amrit Bharat Scheme and discussed the Sattenapalli-Kompalli railway line, among other initiatives.
Discussions also covered significant projects such as the Gunadala Railway Over Bridge, Singh Nagar Railway Over Bridge, the double-line railway under-bridge near Vambay Colony, and the double-line railway over-bridge near Madhura Nagar Pappula Mill. Detailed deliberations were held on maintaining internal roads in Thiruvuru town and addressing technical issues. The Collector directed officials to prioritize drinking water supply and maintenance of various schemes for the towns of Jaggayyapeta and Nandigama.
Rural Water Supply officials were instructed to prepare proposals and DPRs for effective project execution. Irrigation officials were also directed to replace head regulating gates at Velagaleru and provide motors for the G. Konduru Tarakarama lifting scheme.
The meeting was attended by DRO M. Lakshmi Narasimha, Vijayawada RDO K. Chaitanya, CPO Y. Srilatha, and Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner D. Chandrasekhar, along with officials from Railways, R&B, National Highways, and other departments.
