A team from the Council for Citizen Rights (Civil and Human Rights Organisation) conducted a second-day “file inspection” at the Dubbaka Municipal Office in Siddipet district. The members of the Council for Citizens Rights accused the civic body of corruption. They mentioned that they notice issues concerning all department. Upon checking all the records, they identified irregularities, some of which were presented before the media.
The Town Planning section of Dubbaka Municipality was found to be disorganised, and they pointed out the misuse of government funds, claiming there were no records regarding house construction permits. When they questioned the Town Planning Officer about this, the officer spoke contrary to the law, and when asked to show the records, responded sarcastically, saying, “Check online.” They expressed anger at the officer’s rude response and their refusal to provide information.
Upon examining all the records in the municipality, they found that only around 450 houses were listed in the records for the period between 2020 and 2025. When asked whether only 450 houses had been built, the officer left without providing an answer. The team highlighted that there were numerous illegal constructions in Dubba, alleging that higher authorities were supporting these illegal activities.
In conclusion, the organisation criticized that the State government is suffering huge revenue loss.
The members said they would bring the issue of corruption in the Dubbaka Municipality to the attention of the District Collector, Governor, and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. They pledged to continue their struggle until justice was served for the public.
